Through the smog-covered sky, Insignious could see Catastor descending from the air after her attempted retaliation. His eyes burned with anger towards the girl- not only would her attack have threatened herself, but her clanmates as well. Now was not the time to play with fire. Still, now was also not the time to reprimand her. The flying assailant seemed to have left, and Insignious didn't want to waste a single moment of this respite.
Shaking his head to settle his crashing ocean of thoughts, the leader turned and hurriedly scooped up the nearest body. Through the crowds and hysterical mobs, he disappeared beneath the smoke in the direction of the Clinic.
Just then, stepping out of the medical home was Tadi, who fell to her knees in the nearby street and cried into her hands. Jeremiah had passed only moments before, with Tadi's hand squeezing his desperately. It was only just a few hours ago that she'd been dancing with him, laughing with her sisters as he spun them around and kissed their cheeks affectionately. And suddenly he was gone; without opening his eyes or speaking a word.
As Insignious took his leave for the Clinic, Etoah stayed behind to shepherd everyone in appropriate directions. "Get to the Clinic if you are injured. Everyone else, go home. Get inside and stay there. Sleep. Without rest, you are no good to anyone. Insignious will see to us in the morning and explain where we will go from here. He will tell you what happened this night. I know it may be difficult, but...we must trust him. No one leaves the clan tonight. Pray for your brothers and sisters that are hurt. Pray we'll rise victorious from this." Gently, he urged everyone onwards though staying behind himself. "Kahu!" He shouted, his voice breaking with exhaustion. A few warriors stayed with him and continued the search for their brother.

Akihito gave Cain a tender, grateful smile. "You'll never understand how I missed you..." Taking in a bracing breath of air, the demon nodded. "I can run." Slowly, as his eyes adjusted to the darkness, the ethereal glow from his skin became apparent. He was glad for the light. "Lead the way."
Kazumi blinked, overwhelmed for a moment. It took a moment to bring herself back to reality, getting under Catastor's arm and holding the warrior up as support. The flames had wavered with its supply cut, although kept in place, held by the invisible force that the warrior summoned.
"Yeah, I gotcha."
Cautious and slow, the two fumbled over to the clinic behind Insignious, nearly last to receive the news of Jeremiah's passing.
Back at the wreckage, however, clanmates left the scene as Etoah directed. A minute more of searching passed before the demolished structure began to rumble, debris sliding off and away from the previously trapped warden. The rumbling was weak in nature, only a slight shake as the man stood fully. His hand clutched onto his shoulder as he heavily breathed-- rather, wheezed in between violent coughs. Blood seeped out between his fingers, soiled by dirt and dust. His clothes were ripped by whatever had collapsed atop him, pulling the fabric with it. Kahu squinted, trying to find either the deputy or the leader. He felt as though his condition could wait-- his failure, however, could not.
"Where... Is Insignious?"
Elsewhere, Cain nodded in understanding. He braced himself for their departure, chuckling as he noticed Akihito's surprise of self-illumination. With a start ahead of the demon, he joyously answered his former leader, leading him without a moment's waste out to their makeshift camp.
"Yes, sir!"
As the gang grew further from the scene, the flames died down, settling into the stone as mere embers.
Etoah stepped back in alarm as the wreckage trembled, revealing the wounded warrior. "Kahu!" He exclaimed, hurrying to the man's aid. The nearby clansfolk also assisted them, brushing the warden off and making the path before them easier to navigate.
"Insignious is at the Clinic. You are the last to be found, everyone else has been recovered. Last I'd heard there hadn't been any deaths." Lowering his voice so only Kahu could hear, Etoah added, "He has not been found, we believe he was taken by his allies." "Come now, you need to be treated."
The aid was greatly appreciated, as were the clansmen who surrounded the former warden. He intensely listened to the deputy’s rundown of the situation, relieved that no deaths had occurred under his roof. Relief was short-lived, however, as he glared downwards, unable to keep hold of his usual stoic expression.
“The vile miscreant struck down my quarters.”
Words hissed at Etoah, although his voice low in volume. Sluggishly making his way over to the main clinic, he mumbled a few curses before looking over his shoulder, viewing the wreckage in its entirety. With the Depty still close, he added an observation more:
“The walls imploded in an instant, blackening as they toppled by some sort of heinous dark arts.”
The deputy nodded, Kahu's words sinking deep into his thoughts. With help from the others, Etoah led the man to the Clinic House. The small multi-story cottage was streaming constant incomers and outgoers, worried family members and friends. "Out of the way." Etoah said loudly to the swarm in front of the steps. The people obediently moved and he carefully brought the wounded soldier inside where Nahva hastened to find him a bed.
