With stealth and patience only a true Solarisclan Hunter could possess, the young Mender paced forward towards her focused target, hands outstretched. Willing her ability of invisibility, only the dull thuds from her footsteps would do anything to alert the apprentice of her presence.
The thought to scare either the dream or nightmare had been a random one, brought forth by nothing other than boredom and a desire to see either face. The time apart felt like ages, though it had surely only been a matter of days since they last communicated with one another. She couldn't place it, but the need was something she couldn't restrain.
Tightly grabbing onto the Dream's shoulders, she slightly shook him to enhance the shock effect.
"Boo."
A mere second later she was off him, hands openly raised as she took a step back.
Pestle in hand, Yukai sat intently creating...something. A little bit of Murah, a little bit of Tilia there, and something else. What was it? "Oh dear..." he whispered to himself with a slight grimace, "I can't even remember..."
Deep in thought, Yukai scattered the supplies from his bag on the ground before him, trying to remember what exactly he was making. and just then...
"Boo."
Yukai jumped with a loud squeal, tensing his whole body for the next several minutes. "Yuuka! You oaf, you just..." he looked down to see a red powder poured out all over his pants. He groaned.
"Yes, yes, very funny. You got me. Hahahaha. Ha. Now I have this...filth all everywhere," he pouted, but was not exactly angry. He was actually very happy to see Yuuka, but he couldn't exactly encourage her rebellious streak either...
"Well, what did you need, Misus Kokoro? It was quite a surprise to see you, very literally. Would you like some tea? I was thinking about going to make some," he cleared is throat, "O-or is this about business?"
Silent chuckles accompanied her smile made of amusement. His reaction truly entertained her, eye-lights flickering in response. It took a moment for her to finally calm and examine the disaster she had caused, although she failed to feel any sort of remorse for the prank. A wash or two would fix it well enough. Listening to him a moment, she dipped her head to the side and stared past him.
"Tea is good."
Another glance over the red powder though, and she felt the urge to speak up. Although rare for her to speak all too much at a time, her Mender skills were as perfect as they could be: completely accurate.
"Don't mix it with the powder. Numia's no good for tea. Have to change."
She moved next to him and crouched down, grabbing a bowl which had fallen with the mixture. From there, she stood and slid the bowl back onto the counter.
"Ah, yes, of course. I know my teas, Yuuka. I believe I can make them myself. You can't forget Hila either, dear," Yukai sounded a bit offended as he brought out a vial of crushed Vidulla leaves proudly. After a moment, he realized his error, blushed, and quickly put it away. "T-tilia it is," he cleared his throat, refusing to meet Yuuka's eyes again. He began muttering under his breath: "Numia flowers might be good for tea too; I have been testing it lately. If only I had my powers here, I would not have to worry about the brewing and the tea-making...Ech, what a hassle. To be fair is kind of fun and somewhat rewarding..." The rest was unintelligible muttering.
An expected blunder considering the dream's lifelong status as nothing more than an apprentice. She thought no less of him, however: He was trying, and Yuuka struggled on her own, too. Medicine work was one of the easier things to deal with as of late, but each mind worked and kept its own complexity. They were quite alike in that aspect, she would somehow figure.
Ignoring his incessant mumbling, she reached up to give his head a messy pat, unevenly shifting his hair to and fro in the process. She'd leave him alone only after distorting the style completely, shifting her slight attention towards his work. The Mender would still look past him, but focus was truly attempted.
"It's okay. Tea is tea and your tea is good."
Surely not her best attempt at consoling for his mistake, but she saw it only as speaking the obvious. She would probably drink whatever he gave her-- even if it'd kill her. For someone so picky, this was a trait set exclusive to him and few others.
"Oh" he blushed and kept his eyes averted from Yuuka, "W-well, if you insist then no Hila." Determined to please the younger girl, he began to prepare the Tila and the water for boiling. It was actually quite rare to share his tea with others in Solarisclan. Now that the tea was a finite resource, he couldn't exactly be giving it out willy-nilly.
"Well, Yuuka, I will brew you my secret special blend in that case. Don't tell anyone else, or I'll have Akurai eat you." He felt comfortable saying such things around her, but in general, he preferred to keep Akurai's existence well hidden.
Mender punned, very much aware of what the dream tried to intimidate her with. While no one else might have understood their exchange, the inside joke felt bittersweet as it bordered truth, in a sense.
Peering over, she let her head rest on his shoulder as she waited for him to finish. Overseeing his work was probably for the best, lest she wish to be poisoned by something more dangerous than Numia.
"Heehee, I suppose you are right. I guess you are safe then," It seemed as if a weight was lifted off his shoulders. He patted her head as he continued his work on the tea. After finishing the tea, Yukai sniffed the kettle, ascertaining the tea was not too thick or thin. "Sweet of course. It is not tea if it is not sweet." He paused a minute, "Oh dear, I was not thinking. Which would you prefer, Yuuka?"
Unable to help herself from leaning further forward, black haired mender took a whiff of the concoction as eyes searched for something resembling sugar.
"Sweet, sweeter and sweeter."
Raining into the kettle, an absurd amount of blackened Orn grains dissolved into the teapot, overshadowing its initial flavor. Her movement was swift as she went about getting around him, settling to take on the brew to her own liking. As such, the new blend held a large clump of grains towards the bottom of the mixture, though mender seemed oddly satisfied of such effects.
