A young redheaded girl was staying down on an empty spot with nothing but grass in the beautiful zone of Fushe. She was looking around, examining the surroundings. Natsuko was amazed by all the herbs and berries that could be found in just one place. Solarisclan was indeed the best clan for those who were into the mender job, or at least that's what she thought. She didn't know how Lunarisclan's territory was like.
"So how was this herb called again...? I hope it's nothing that would give me an allergic reaction." She mumbled as she was looking through a book that she just got out from a bag. She wanted to see in the book how the blue strange herb was called like, and what its effects were. The book she was given by her mother's was quite amazing. It had everything a mender needs to know in it, just perfect for the job.
As she was playing around with the herbs and the berries, discovering them, she suddenly started wondering something. "Am I the only mender around here? I'm starting to get lonely..." She sighed, not being the type that could spend days in a row without contact.
So far throughout that day, Yuuka- the black-haired and slightly deranged mender- seemed to lap around the camp, only to be left alone, as the usual, from doing any clan duties. Though she was a full-fledged mender, the others in the clan wouldn't exactly pay much attention to her, unless they were coming to her for injuries. And even then, she wasn't one's first choice. With her amount of practice and knowledge on names, she might as well be a trainee. Although, if Yomi permit the girl, a mender she was. There was nothing any of the clan members could really do about it.
The days were on repeat to the young mender, a boring and often unchanging cycle. Even though tensions were at limits with the opposing clan Lunarisclan, Yuuka was hardly affected. She'd still go around the clan and see what was to be done, mess up what someone had been working on (all on accident, of course), and do what she'd feel like. If she felt like anything at all.
This time, she felt the need to suddenly stop walking from her circles around camp, and to head straight to Fushe. Why? Well, who knows with that girl. Yuuka didn't know. She felt like it. So off the girl went.
Of course, with her new companion Blitz to follow her. The large, black bird with redish orange eyes that was notably the same size as the girl which could still comfortably sit still on the mender's shoulder. Defying the laws of physics, but only a few clanmates and others actually gave note to it.
Blitz flew overhead, circling the girl from high, high above. No one could really tell that it was there, being as high as it was, though Yuuka knew. It always followed her. Blitz was interesting like that. Interesting to the other menders and crafters questioning ways and hows things worked, at least.
It wasn't too long before Yuuka had made her way to Fushe and stood before it, not exactly noticing the other mender there. On the other hand, Blitz had. The bird beast swooped down from above and landed quickly next to the mender, having tree's leaves shake from the landing, and a few herbs and berries spots disrupted.
What might have freaked out the trainee and gave a more than likely negative impression on her, Yuuka thought nothing of it, though noticed Natsuko in this way. She probably wouldn't have, should Blitz have landing softly on her shoulder or that of the like.
With some reluctance, Yuuka walked her way over to the trainee, or at least, to her bird, and stroked the back of its wings. "Blitz..." She mumbled the bird's name, for the trainee to take note of, or otherwise. Its not like they meant to scare the girl, after all.
Natsuko was scared at first because of the bird that approached her, and stood up. She took a few steps backwards and was about to flee, but she changed her mind when she saw a clan mate of hers walking towards the bird. Natsuko still wasn't sure if it was some kind of attack or not, but seeing that Yuuka was stroking the back of the bird, her fear started to fade away. It must have been the girl's bird.
"You scared me! Why did you do that?" Natsuko said slightly red of anger, because she was interrupted. However, she quickly calmed down and sighed. Natsuko walked near the two of them, picked up the book and put it back into the bag.
"Y-Yuuka, was it? Or Yuuki?" Natsuko looked at the girl.
"Yuuki." Yuuka answered immediately, leaving no time in between the question and her answer. That was what she always remembered her name as, so that had to be it, nothing else. Yuuka was a stupid nickname the clan had given her, so she thought. When she could think straight enough to even pose the question to herself-- which was almost never.
Squinting her eyes, the black-haired mender stared at the girl and pointed at her, leaving one hand on her bird, the other at the trainee. "Fire-Hearted." She didn't go on any more of an explanation, just gave a long, blank stare behind the girl and left it at that.
Only a loud screech from the bird Yuuka was stroking would snap her back to reality, in a sense, and she turned to look at the trainee again. "Relaxing?" She tilt her head, straining to focus on the girl, though her gave was more randomly fixed on her hair, than anything.
The girl thought Yuuki's behavior was quite weird, but she didn't say anything. Natsuko kept quiet, waiting for her to make a move or just say something, but Yuuki kept staring at her...hair?
"Hey..." She said quietly trying to start a conversation. "Are you alright? And why are you staring at me like that?"
Stare? Was she staring? "Oh..." Yuuka blinked, shifting her sight elsewhere at the rows of plants in Fushe. She looked over one row to another, and back again, to suggest an idea.
"You're a Trainee? Or a Mender? Or...?" She strailed off, biting against her cheek as she posed the question to Natsuko. Honestly, she forgot what she had asked, alike to a short-term memory loss, though the question still remained.
The girl was sitting down before the Mender walked over, wasn't she? Yuuka tilted her head to the side, pondering about it. After a moment, she said, "Sit," and rushed off to the depths of Fushe, scanning through the different plants and herbs to come across what she was looking for. The black-haired mender plucked off a few berries of Hila and ran back over to Natsuko-- not without falling flat on her face, first.
Yuuka didn't fall hard, though she did have to rub her nose and pat herself off. Without even realizing it, she had fallen into a large gathering of Tilia, making her sneeze. "Just wanted to get Mantis's Spray." She sniffled, continuously wiping her face yet holding out the berries to the Trainee with the other hand. "Try them." She ordered the Trainee, picking one and tossing it in her mouth to munch on, yet ended up choking on it and coughing hysterically.
Meanwhile, Blitz perked up at the irresistible scent of Tilia, enough covering Yuuka to make any animal nearby go berserk. He glided over to the black-haired mender and nipped on her shirt, of which Yuuka paid no actual attention to.
The girl took a few steps behind after all of this happened. "Look, I don't really feel like trying any of these..." She tried to make her way out of it, without being rude. Natsuko was trying to look calm, but inside, she was quite agitated.
"I appreciate it all, really, but I think I should go now." She said politely and tried to leave.
