Knox looked around in sheer bewilderment at it all, staring over at Cain in a 'Dad, help me, this man hurt my feelings' sort of way.

Cain deliberated a moment, comprehending the miscommunication between the two dolts. The intense disintegration of their relationship hadn't been unforeseen. He'd noticed the two's issues beforehand, yet their simmering problems never reached a boiling point prior. With a lack of empathy, and a flood of overwhelming grief, thin rings of flames nipped at Sergio. Nothing of serious harm, but an enough to feel a sensation akin to rough papercuts forming wherever skin to his limbs were exposed. Compared to the punishment that he'd given out with the boys when they were younger, it was light. So far, a warning.

He glanced at Dominic in case he had further comment to back up either case, yet the boy shook his head, not speaking for either side. Not that he could speak well, anyways.

"I've misplaced my trust in your judgement. Behavior that brings shame well outside your task. To torment one of your own through their grief is unacceptable misconduct. My boy, you ought repent."

Words to accompany the warning of flames, lest an inferno arise.

Sergio closed his hands and drew his arms in. "No appeal to be made here by me, what's done is done; I don't have any further controversy to start," he exhaled, nodding towards his bevy of acquired cuts and finding a seat quietly. To stew on yesterday's trials or work towards tomorrow's success, the latter was an easy pick for Sergio, always. This whole ordeal had taken away from what had been a very fruitful rescue excursion-- certainly he couldn't be the only one who recalled that that happened? Speaking against a decision made by Cain could work for Knox or Dominic but it wasn't Sergio's style, even when it may have promised better results; there was, for him, no issue to be had with Knox, despite all this, though maybe he wouldn't receive a hug come his birthday.

Still caught up in his wild fury, the boy rushed around the camp grabbing his few belongings and throwing them into a weathered rucksack. "I'm sorry," He was saying under his breath, certainly to Cain, as he packed, "but I have to go to them...I have to go to them. I have to go. I'm done here."

Although his voice was slow, it was clear in the awkward silence that followed the youngest. He glanced up towards the sky, noting the time of night. Old home was far, but by hours at most. He wasn't too sure what he'd do when he arrived there, but that was for future Dominic to figure out. And hell, maybe he'd come across some hot chick who knew how to treat him? Wishful thinking.

When he gazed back over at Cain, he finally answered them, his stern expression betraying his words.

"Yes, do so. We'll travel past sunrise to pay respects to our people, be it separate or as one."
