"Aren't you late?"
Smug smile was clear on the opponent's face while he tapped a foot, waiting ever-so patiently for their date to begin.
"I've gone through all the trouble of borrowing this arena for our date. Where do you think it'll take us sightseeing?"
The arena which surrounded them was an infamous one; ground which morphed and shaped every so often into different terrain as the more the brawl lasted. It could be buildings, a cliffside, clear plains-- anything could appear, and at random, too.
"Oh, our time is being recorded, so do make sure not to embarrass yourself more than you already do, okay?" |

"I apologize," Septimus said as he walked through the doors of the arena. Though instead of being in the ring, he was standing among the bleachers.
"You see when I said 'date', I meant just that. I was waiting for you at The Clove for forty five minutes." He smiled down at his brother from the high platform of seats.
"But I see you had a different idea- what are you doing way down there?"

Peering up at his partner of sorts, he extended an arm to his right, gesturing to the arena.
“Why don’t you come down here and have a look. This is sure to be plenty more exciting than anything The Clove offers.”

The devil's eyes looked away in slight annoyance. Septimus sighed and rested an arm across his chest under the opposite elbow, supporting his head with his hand in a bored sort of way.
"I don't think so, little mouse. And I'm not wasting our reservations. You can roll around in the mud on your own." He dismissed Flauros with a wave of his hand as he turned around in disinterest and began to take his leave.

“Septy!”
Flu called to him, realizing he was serious about exiting the vicinity. Kicking off the ground, he propelled himself up towards the bleachers and landed hard, denting the aluminum and concrete seating.
“You’ve already lost your reservation if it was 45 minutes ago.”
He argued, hopping his way over to Septimus. Giving a yank to his capelet, the demon attempted to stop him before leaving on his own.
“At least ring them and check before going all the way back.”

"I told them to wait for me." Septimus replied, turning around with a bothered expression and gesturing to the dented seating behind Flu.
"Oh, now was that necessary? Tch." He clicked his tongue in disapproval. "Always violating what isn't yours, hm?"

“Who cares?”
Rolling his eyes, he skipped up to a higher step and leaned down on the other’s shoulder with his arm. With a sigh, he lamented, adding a hint of sarcasm.
“It’s all to be mine soon, anyway. If you’re so set on the reservation, then fine. You don’t have plans tomorrow, do you? I’ll drag you around then.”

Scoffing, he lifted his chin up as he joined at his partner's side. Although he was used to playing the opposite part, he indulged in the unique role he had around Septimus. From what could have been a fight to a date, alike pain to pleasure.
"Oh, please. You're talking as if this is our first."
Even if Flauros took the more feminine role of the two, he was certainly more eager to lead the way out. Releasing a cough or two, he tried to clear his clogged airway caught in his throat. |

"First of the night." The tall demon declared as they stepped through the arena's exit and into the hellish city of Limbo. In the distant red skies stood the gargantuan Castle of Penitence, where Septimus was employed. It was where all hell-bound souls were doomed to be incarcerated, Septimus included, when their usefulness ran out.
Along the dark streets were buildings of entertainment, run by enslaved souls paying their eternal dues. The Clove, a restaurant, was a few blocks down.
Instead of bird songs, there were screams in the air. Moans. Cries for mercy. Bitter laughter. Vile, deformed, ungodly things crawled in the alleyways and waited for unwitting demons to wander too close.
Septimus eyed the dark corners of the streets that they passed with caution and disgust, keeping his brother's arm tightly locked with his. Repulsive. So it always was in Limbo, so it always would be.
"A fine night." He said, nevertheless. What was the use in complaining about one's eternity?

The everyday sight of The Abyss's horrors were trivial at best. The screams were music to some demons, annoyance to others. Flauros had long since adapted to the hellish way of living in his endless years, choosing to ignore the insanity. What he didn't ignore, however, was his brother's disdain.
"Chaotic as ever. Oh, have you heard? Rumor has it there's going to be something implimented around here soon. I believe they called it a "purge", or something along the likes?"
Nonchalantly chattering about the latest news in hell, he effortlessly and violently shooed away a wretched creature which crawled onto their path.
Limbo had been flooded with new souls lately, it was hard not to come across such cursed beings. The closer one became to the area of employment, the more curses one would come to find. |

Wracking his mind for the memory, he glanced up at Septimus' face. He blocked the complete harshness of the abyssal moon-- distorted, revolting, and radiant of unimaginable heat.
"Five suns' time on Lalonia. If that. Last I recall, there were efforts to speed up the endeavor, but who knows. Too much effort, I'd think." |
