Straightening herself up, she quickly started back on the beaten path.
"It's our home. We have a lot of elders here that are so accustomed to our way of living that they plan to die up here."
As they came up to a rail-lined split around a trunk, she double checked both paths, finally deciding as though she was guessing at the direction they were continuing in.
"Not that it's terrible here; you grow up learning of the dangers or you're taken out by them. Oh, but like I said, we're getting around to fixing everything and we're getting more railing up soon! So all the wood will be either replaced or coated with something by our crafters to make them more durable."

Behind her, Aki had an expression that was half amused, half concerned. Wanting to die up here certainly didn't seem like a good enough reason to make everyone stay, but he had no right to mention it and it certainly wasn't the matter on hand.

Giving a glance upwards and into one of the higher homes above them, she noticed the movement of shadows. In response, she lowered her voice and crouched somewhat, though continued to move.

"I was introduced to her from my friend Yuuki, which is why I've always gotten their names mixed up. I'm not sure if you would know her, last I heard Yuuki wasn't traveling often so she probably hasn't visited Yuuka in a while." Aki didn't notice anything regarding Ally, he was busy marveling at the civilization in the trees.

Taking his words at face value, she crept past the treehome and further down the trail, leading to a much more populated area plentiful of homes.
"Well, if Yuuka is home, it would be here with the other Menders. Wait here a cloudshift and I'll go and get her."
Flipping her blonde curls behind her, she darted off to the fae's home, having to climb another ladder upwards, and leaving the angelic demon on his own.

More than a few minutes passed before she returned to him. She had entered and exited plenty of homes, checked a number of windows, yet had found nothing. She had even stopped to ask a couple, but neither of them knew where the young mender was.
Hanging from a branch above the walkway she left Aki on, she gave him the news.
"Hey! So no one's actually seen her for awhile. Which isn't too out of the ordinary considering everyone knows she can turn invisible, but that means I can't really help you. Sorry to drag you all the way here, but you could leave her a note or something for when she comes out of her introverted phase."

His face fell at the news and his heart grew faster in fear. "Oh fuck..." He whispered, looking down with wide eyes. "What do I do...What the fuck do I do..?" Aki looked back up at the girl,
"Thank you for trying, Ally. This isn't something that should be left in a note, I guess I'll just try to find her another time."
Turning around quickly, he started back the way he came. His hands clenched , then relaxed, then clenched again as he weighed his only options. Who knows when that girl would show up. He couldn't hang around and wait for her, the children had been left on their own for too long already. But what was he to do with them?
Dammit. GOD DAMMIT.
With no longer a purpose to be there, Akihito suddenly felt unsafe and he wanted to get out quickly.

Eyes of sapphire watched the Angel start back in the direction they came. Huntress noticed the little notions of frustration, having seen it in her own mentor beforehand. Even if his voice hadn't given it away, the clenching of his fists did.
Dropping off her branch, wooden planks safely caught her as she bounced back and behind him.
"One second!"
Alithia called for him as she caught up, though quickly lowered her voice in case of others nearby.
"If she shows up here, is there any good place to direct her towards seeing you? Or Yuuki's kids, if she's aware of them."

Akihito turned around, eyes looking off to the side as he decided a place.
Wait. He thought, staring back at her. What if they're responsible for the attack? What if they're looking for the children?
"The...The hidden glade. Under the cliff, just six miles west of Maelstromclan. She'll know what I mean." Aki gave Ally a small, uncomfortable smile.

Her smile seemed to gleam from the sunlight that hit her face, casting polka-dotted shadows onto the rest of her expression. She'd allow him to exit on his own, self-assured that he wouldn't run into any clan members across bridges. Bird chirps in the direction he left from were nothing but a sign good luck, at least, from what she believed them to be.
That was, until she heard a crow's cry among them.
