Joseph had to make haste, thankfully all solarisclan members were recommended to learn the pathways and directions of Solarisclan lands. So even with all the rain Joseph was still able to navigate the forest, each step becoming heavier than the last. It was a relief to see the tall trees of Vendi Duri, this signified they were mere minutes away from the camp. Joseph would prefer to climb a ladder up to the tree house for shelter but the hunters at Vendi Duri put away the robe ladders so they would be blown off by the storm, and you could not see anyone up there, since they would all be inside taking shelter. For now Joseph had to keep moving forward to reach camp as soon as possible, but his body was also starting to get weak, when he then noticed Kira stumbling with her legs.
"Whoa, whoa!!!" Joseph said as he quickly raised Kira's hand and placed it over his shoulder. He bent down and grabbed the girl by the abdomen area giving he much needed support. "Come on Kira. A fighter like you can't fall over because of some drops of water." Joseph said still trying to make a peaceful joke in this hellish conditions. "Come on, we're almost there." Joseph said taking some slower but firmer steps so as to not lose balance. "You know what can make *cough* this walk go faster?" Joseph said as he cleared his throat. "Some conversation. Tell me about your parents. Or better yet tell me how a beautiful girl like you became a warrior." Joseph said trying to maintain Kira awake in any way possible.

KIRASUNE MAMI - 449 words | tags: joseph It's the price I need to pay Can you see me now? Can you see? CAN'T YOU SEE? Kira was trying hard not to collapse, someone in her condition should not be in the rain. Least of all in the rain using up energy she didn't even have. Her mind wandered off, not focusing on moving each leg, causing her to stumble again. Her eyes picked up on Joseph's voice, but couldn't quite decipher what he was trying to say.
After several minutes of her ears ringing, maybe from the rain or something else, Kira nodded and let him place his hand over her shoulder and abdomen. Even with the support, Kira remained weak and yet pushing herself to the limit. She didn't want to drag him down with her.
His decision to pacify the situation by instigating conversation was pretty smart, if only she could speak much. Speaking was wasting more energy but to humor him, Kira participated.
"Parents..." Kira muttered, then shivered violently followed by a cough. "Passed. A few years back. It's alright though, they served the clan well and they lived their lives to the fullest. "
With a shrug, Kira thought about his next comment. She didn't know. Why did she decide to become a warrior in the first place? Due to being weak since birth, Kira always wanted to prove that she was truly fit for the job. Later on in life, it became a hobby to exercise. After noticing the effects it did on her health, it then became an obsession. The warrior life did not choose her, she chose it. Unfortunately she chose wrong. Kira would end up dying on the battle field, and it won't be from a sword.
After snapping back in thought, Kira sighed and gave a sad smile, "I don't know actually.." She trailed, "I guess I always wanted to prove myself to people. I always wanted to fight and care for my clan. I don't think the warrior path is for me though." She saw several sources of light up ahead and immediately began freezing. Kira wanted to retrace their steps and not go into the other clan.
Her eyes widened in fear, this was a first experience for her. What if Yomi attacked her? What if Yomi killed her? What if Yomi kicked her out in the rain, forcing Joseph to stay away? What if, what if...
Her widened eyes stared at Joseph, silently wondering if this was really the right decision. An awkward laugh bubbled up in her throat, "You think maybe... No one would need to see me?" She didn't want to meet anyone, all she wanted to do was spend time with this Solarisclan mender that seemed too friendly and get treatment to avoid death. Was that so much to ask?

Never had time moved slower for Joseph, the camp was only a few minutes away but those minutes felt like hours. Each step getting heavier than the last, and slowly but surely getting closer to Josephs tent. He couldn't let Kira fall unconscious in this condition, she had to at least make it to the tent where it was warmth so Joseph continued to talk to her. But the tone of Kira's voice was a bit depressing, maybe Joe had stepped into territory he shouldn't have.
"I don't think the warriors path is the path for you. I think Kira's path is the path for you. You make your own choices and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I'm sure that as long as you follow the path your heart desires you will find happiness through that path. And that's something that every parent would want to see, even if they're not here to see it." Joseph said thinking of his own parents and the decision he had to make in orders to get to where he is today.
In an instant Joseph and Kira where in the entry way to Solaris camp. Thanks to the storm the camp seemed like a ghost town, everyone was in their tents with windows shut and doors closed, you could see a few people running around covering their heads trying to make it from one tent to the other. From the entry way Joseph could see his tent nearby and then he heard Kira's request with a touch of fear in her tone. Joseph turned around and looked her straight in her big blue eyes, he grabbed her hand tightly and with a firm voice reassured her "Don't worry, I won't let anyone hurt you, ever." Joseph said with a straight look as he placed his shirt over her head to cover her so she could feel more secured. Joseph then turned to look back at the camp and began to make his way to his tent.
